Learn about the work of Enhance.

At Enhance, we’re dedicated to helping our community in the South East in many ways. As a voluntary charitable organisation delivering training services since 1994, we’ve been working each year since then to make sure our goals are met. We make  computers and the Internet relevant for everyone along with delivering training which improves the lives and the life chances of people.

Led and delivered by volunteers our programmes have made a real difference.

Ukraine - a new challenge for Enhance.

Just as the volunteers and committee were getting to grips with the end of the COVID pandemic a new challenge presented itself - right on our doorstep.

With the help of volunteers in the Waterford Ukrainian community, Ken Fox  of Waterford City Council and funding from the Community Foundation for Ireland we have developed a IT training response plan.

A Better Fairer Connected Ireland.

E-Inclusion and Computer Literacy are the cornerstones of our work since we started our training programmes many years ago. Breaking down the barriers to confident computer and Internet use will always be one of our drivers to bring positive change to Irish people's lives.

Despite the growth of computer ownership and Internet use only 55%  of Irish people over 65 have used the Internet - (Age Action '20). When unexpected events [ like a Covid 19 Pandemic ] occur it's vital everyone has the skills and tools to cope. We are rapidly learning the lessons of this Pandemic for our future programmes.

Improved Life Chances For All.

One community of people in Ireland which is frequently forgotten is asylum seekers and persons given leave to remain.

To improve the lives and life chances of adults who want to improve their skills and seek further training. we developed a range of high impact training programmes which will increase the information technology knowledge, skills and aptitude in this group.

High Impact Programmes

Helping Isolated People to Manage.

Enhance is committed to helping those most in need in the South East of Ireland - the isolated elderly, people who are socially disadvantaged, people with no technical skills who need to use I.T, people struggling with substance abuse and health issues and many more.

During the Covid Pandemic lockdowns we shifted our focus to I.T support for the vulnerable -  replacing broken or faulty phones/tablets for people who are contact critical. We also supplied  replacement mobile phones to vulnerable people and offered advice on Zoom, Duo and Facebook platforms to vulnerable people.
